You still have a chance to sink your teeth into one (or more) of those delicious caramel apples that we were selling at Ladies Night Out. These are made locally by Foundation supporter The Rusty Bucket.
The apples are $7 each, and believe us, they are mouthwatering good! These goodies are made from beautiful Granny Smith apples that are coated in a smooth, homemade caramel sauce with a variety of candy, cookie, or chocolate coatings. There are 14 different flavors to choose from:
Cash, check or charge accepted, and we can collect payment from you when we deliver the apples. Checks can be written to Fur Kids Foundation. Download an order form here. Forms can also be emailed; please contact us at: [email protected]. Orders will be taken until Friday, June 3. Thanks to Linda and Mary for picking up the donation from the Powder River Rousta Bout It Betties on May 21. We received another $500 from these awesome ladies! This is the third time the Betties have chosen FKF as a beneficiary and each time we've received $500. If you know any of the Betties, please thank them for their support. If you've never been to one of their bouts, we highly encourage you check them out. They have really advanced this year and are a lot of fun to watch! Be sure to like their page on Facebook, and check out their schedule online.
A BIG shout out to volunteers Peggy and Rebecca for donating some items to be used at the Silent Auction and Table of Trinkets and Treats at Pet-A-Palooza. We have some really great treasures/pet goodies in these bins to help us raise money so we can help people with emergency veterinary care. If you have items that you could give for the silent auction or Table of Trinkets and Treats, please let Manda or Mary know in the volunteer Facebook group! They are also looking for bags and baskets. Big thanks to the volunteers who took time out of their busy schedules to help us for a couple of hours at Ladies Night Out on May 26: Andi, Cody, Felicia, Heidi, Karolyn, Laura (who came all the way from Wright), Mary, Pat, Peggy, Rebecca, Robynn, and Tara! It may have been a bit slower than previous years (likely from the Memorial Day Holiday) but we were able to raise around $700 for the Foundation! Thanks again for helping out. Thanks to Felicia, Laura and Rebecca for helping out at Petco on May 28. These three spoke with a lot of peeps about the calendar contest and got a few donations. Spending time at booths is a great way to help us get the word out about what we do in our community. If you can help out at an upcoming booth, please let us know in this Google Spreadsheet or in the Facebook group. Another thanks to Cody, Diane, Felicia, Mary, Megan, Peggy, Rebecca and Steve for helping to plant the flowers in our flower bed near CAM-PLEX on May 29. We can’t wait to see it grow in. This bed will need to be weeded as it grows. Please let us know if this is something you can do to help with in the volunteer Facebook group. Karolyn Chambers
In May, Fur Kids Foundation participated in the Keep Gillette Beautiful Coal Country Trash-A-Thon. We put out a call to all of our volunteers to help us pick up our section of road off of Garner Lake Road and we had one volunteer roll up her sleeves to help us clean up our roadway: Karolyn Chambers. Karolyn has been a volunteer and supporter of Fur Kids Foundation since the beginning. She’s helped us with many events including Ladies Night Out, Pet-A-Palooza and Pooch Plunge. She is often willing to sit at a booth and help get information out about what the Foundation does and alway supports us by using Smile.Amazon.com. Karolyn also often brings her pups Jinx and Sam to many Foundation events after she volunteers at them. We are very grateful for Karolyn and all of her support throughout the years. Have you seen a volunteer go above and beyond? Let Mary or Felicia know at [email protected]. In May 2016, Fur Kids Foundation had six families apply for assistance, and we were able to help two families for a total of $111.20 given in aid. Below is some information on the cases we were able to help with:
We are grateful for the dedication of Fur Kids Foundation volunteers and supporters who have helped these families stay happy and healthy, and together! When you volunteer, attend an event, or help us raise money by supporting the businesses who support us with promotions, these families are who you are helping. Thank you again for all that you do for the Foundation, and for families with pets in Campbell County, Wyoming. |
