In November, Fur Kids Foundation was asked to help an abandoned dog at the Wright Animal Control, Miss Emily. She came with another Shitzu cross, but Miss Emily was in bad shape.
When Miss Emily got to the shelter she had blood in her urine. Shelter staff immediately took her to Red Hills Veterinary Hospital to be seen by Dr. Gary Gotfredson. After taking X-rays at the clinic, they learned that Miss Emily had countless bladder stones. Dr. G said it was more than he had ever seen in previous cases and suspected it has been going on for some time at least six months or more. Emily was taken into surgery shortly afterward, and the staff at Red Hills Vet also removed four teeth that were rotting. According to Trinity Thomas-Stone, Emily is only four years old and has a long healthy life to lead thanks to the help of the Red Hills Vet staff. Miss Emily is recovering nicely and waiting to be groomed so she may be put up for adoption. The cost for this surgery has run the Wright Animal Control upwards of $920—Fur Kids Foundation was able to help with $200 of that cost. The Wright Animal Control is seeking further assistance in paying for Miss Emily’s medical bills. If you’re interested in helping, please contact Red Hills Veterinary Hospital at 307.696.2525 to donate today; please mention the Town of Wright account or Miss Emily when donating. Let's give Miss Emily a chance at a healthy, happy life! Check out some Fur Kids Foundation Success Stories.
